Tanglewood Elementary School will host the community fund-raising activities at this year’s South High Marathon Dance. The public is invited. Tanglewood will be open on Friday, March 3, from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Events include the annual sale of Marathon Dance apparel, photos, hair wraps, face painting, ice cream and more, plus the cut-a-thon (haircuts by local barbers and stylists to benefit the Marathon).
The concession stand provides baked goods, food and beverage options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The 50/50 raffle sells thousands of tickets, resulting in many $500 prizes.
Live and silent auctions include items donated by businesses and individuals.
The silent auction begins Friday evening and ends early Saturday evening.
The live auction begins Saturday at 6.
The Dance itself at the high school will be live-streamed for viewing at Tanglewood — or anywhere here or around the world! It’s at www.shmd.org.
The Marathon Dance organizers said, “We hope that you will be able to join us for this wonderful event. It is a truly moving experience to witness a community that comes together to help those in need.
“Please be sure to visit our website at www.shmd.org, and follow us on Social Media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) for additional info and to view the Marathon Dance live the weekend of the event!”
