Fountain redo nearly finished

Chronicle editor Mark Frost writes: Alan Decker, whose Decker’s Pondscapes of Rotterdam is doing the construction, said the redo of the fountain on Warren Street downtown next to the bear mural should be finished by this Friday.

Decker Pondscapes owner Alan Decker points to where waterfalls will flow. He said his Rotterdam-based business began in 1990, did well through Covid as people focused on their homes and is booming now. Besides building fountains, among the things they do is create functional ponds for people who want to swim but don’t want chlorinated pools. The 90 degree swelter didn’t daunt this crew, which includes Mr. Decker’s son. Chronicle photos/Mark Frost
It will have cascading waterfalls and is built of local stone, Mr. Decker said.

It’s a Glens Falls Business Improvement District project.
