State police arrested a Clifton Park 15-year-old for allegedly making a “threat of mass harm…directed towards Queensbury High School” via social media.
The charges are Making a Terroristic Threat, Criminal Impersonation in the second degree, and Making a Threat of Mass Harm.
Police said their investigation found the Clifton Park individual “allegedly accessed the social media account of another without their permission and published the threat. The suspect did not attend Queensbury High School.”
Queensbury School District said they were alerted by police “of a teenager for threatening through Snapchat to sh**t up Queensbury High School.”
“The State Police in collaboration with the FBI worked on this until late Sunday night,” the District added. “Police have assured the district there is no reason to be concerned for the safety of the students.”
The District added, “The safety of our students is imperative. As always, if you see something, say something.”
Troopers were alerted of the the incident on September 21 at around 7 p.m.. The arrest was made Sunday, September 22.
“The 15-year-old was arrested at his home and transported to SP Clifton Park for processing. They were issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Saratoga County Family Court and released to their guardian,” Police said.
