Adirondack Pub & Brewery celebrated completion of a 3,000 square-foot addition with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 30. Established in 1999, the Lake George brewery, located at 33 Canada Street, is in its 25th year.
“This expansion allows us to continue the growth of all the different products that we make,” owner John Carr told The Chronicle. “We make beer, we make whiskey, we make New York State cider. So it allows us to kind of have all those different products that we make and be able to make them on a year-round basis.”
Reported project cost of $350,000 was aided by $50,000 from the Empire State Development Craft Beverage Micro Grant Program.
“Investing in our region’s craft beverage industry is a major goal of our economic development plan,” Mike Yevoli, regional director for Capital Region Empire State Development, said at the ceremony.
“Not only does it carry on the history of manufacturing tasty beverages right here in New York — many times from the farm directly to the consumer — but the industry of course has become a valuable tourism asset.”
Lake George Mayor Ray Perry called Mr. Carr “a true visionary who recognized the potential of the craft beverage industry long before others did.”
45th District State Senator Dan Stec was quoted in a press release, “For a quarter century, Adirondack Pub and Brewery has been a vital part of Lake George village’s economy. Its success comes as no surprise, since Adirondack Pub and Brewery has remained at the forefront of the region’s craft brewing renaissance since its inception.”
District 114 Assemblyman Matt Simpson was quoted, “In everything it does, whether it be the ADK 5K, Oktoberfest, or countless charitable endeavors, the Adirondack Pub & Brewery reflects the enthusiasm, positive energy, and forward-looking vision of John [Carr].”
