Lake George volleyball seeks NYS title at Cool Arena

For the second straight year, Lake George volleyball will take the short trip to Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls for the Class D New York State final four.

The Lakers (16-3) will take on Tuxedo (17-4) in the state semifinals at the Cool Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7:15 p.m.

Johnsburg leases Tannery Pond Center to not-for-profit to operate it & cap town’s cost

The Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek has a new structure that will reduce the Town of Johnsburg’s expense and enable a hoped-for infusion of private contributions and grants.

The Town Board on Oct. 17 unanimously approved a 20-year lease of the building to Tannery Pond Center, the not-for-profit group that has been organizing arts events and exhibits at the center.

The Community Chapel of West Glens Falls closes

The Community Chapel of West Glens Falls announced on its Facebook page on Oct. 4 that the chapel has closed permanently. The congregation continues virtual services through its Facebook page.

Fort William Henry ‘Winter Dream’ transformation is under way

The “dream” began to take earthly shape Monday as installation started on Moment Factory’s debut “Lake George Winter’s Dream” interactive walk-through attraction at Fort William Henry.

More than a dozen crew members were on site Monday afternoon, beginning the transformation process under technical director Ken Mark of Schuylerville.

Themed settings were marked out on the four bastions: “Snow,” “Forest,” “Lake” and “Moon.”
