Lake George mascot vote: Final 4 is Owls, Falcons, Lakers and Islanders

The Lake George School District has opened voting on four options for its new mascot — after state determination that the old name, “Warriors,” falls under the edict earlier this year banning Native American names and imagery.

The school said a student advisory committee selected the final four from more than 270 community suggestions.

GF’s on-again, off-again push for $$ to pursue new plan is on again

Chronicle reporter Zander Frost writes: A night that started with a testy Glens Falls Common Council Workshop Tuesday ended with the Council and mayor coming to a revived former agreement.

Glens Falls Hudson Headwaters, Saratoga Hospital join in program to train medical residents

Saratoga Hospital’s new Family Medicine Residency Program brings six doctors to Saratoga and to the soon-to-open Hudson Headwaters Heath Network Center in Glens Falls.

The three-year residency is a collaboration with Albany Medical Center and Hudson Headwaters. The plan is to add six new residents each year, totaling 18 residents, by 2025.

Lake George electric boat push is on…

Electric boating is getting a big push this summer on Lake George.

In June, “the first marine fast charging station east of Michigan” — made by a firm called Aqua superPower — was installed at the Queen Boat Company at Dunham’s Bay.
