Warren County plans ARPA $$ to first responders & 16 businesses

Warren County’s ARPA — American Rescue Plan Recover Act — Advisory Committee met again on Friday, Oct. 14, and recommended 21 recipients for funding, The Board of Supervisors has final say. Here are the recommendations.

5 First Responder groups
• $75,000 to the North Warren Emergency Squad
• $46,568 to the Bay Ridge Rescue Squad
• $37,435 to the Bay Ridge Fire Co.

Boston woman buys Palmer Brothers Marina on Brant Lake

Claudia Vigorito, a Boston accountant,  has purchased the Palmer Brothers Marina in Brant Lake and renamed it the Brant Lake Marina, The Chronicle has learned.

She said she paid “right under $1-million.” Sellers were John and Pete Palmer, who started the business 32 years ago.

Guns stolen in pre-dawn break-in at Calamity Jane’s gun store.

The Chronicle’s Mark Frost reports:

A break-in early this morning resulted in the theft of handguns from Calamity Jane’s gun shop on Dix Avenue in Hudson Falls.
Harold Spiezio, Senior Investigator for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, said on the scene shortly before noon, that the theft involved “mostly handguns…possibly all handguns.
“They forcibly broke into some cabinetry to remove guns,” he said. “It appears it was targeted.”
