Public events moved to Tanglewood School

Tanglewood Elementary School will host the community fund-raising activities at this year’s South High Marathon Dance. The public is invited. Tanglewood will be open on Friday, March 3, from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Events include the annual sale of Marathon Dance apparel, photos, hair wraps, face painting, ice cream and more, plus the cut-a-thon (haircuts by local barbers and stylists to benefit the Marathon).

Back to the school for first time since 2020

After two years as a shortened one-day outdoor event at The Great Escape because of the Covid pandemic, the 46th annual South High Marathon Dance returns home this Friday and Saturday, March 3 & 4.

Two shot on Dix Ave, one in critical condition; GFPD investigating

The Glens Falls Police Department said it is investigating a shooting that took place very early this morning, Thursday, March 2 at 29 Dix Avenue at 4:14am.

“Two people were shot, one is in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to Albany Medical Center,” said a release.

“There is no threat to the public. The shooter and the two (2) victims are from Glens Falls.”
