Bob Blais, 86, to end 52-year run as Lake George Mayor; Ray Perry likely successor but still time to declare

Seismic change nears for Lake George Village. After 52 years as mayor, Bob Blais, 86, is not seeking re-election in the March 21 vote. Current village trustee Ray Perry seems poised to succeed him.

But signed petitions to run for elected office will be accepted until Feb. 14, and at least one other person has picked them up. The Mayor’s salary is $40,000.

SGF Marathon kids choose 12 people, 10 non-profits to help

The student committee selected 12 individuals, ages 2 to 63, and 10 non-profits to receive proceeds from the 46th annual South High Marathon Dance. There were 90 applications for help.

Former Copperfield in North Creek sells for $1.94-million


Chronicle staff writer Zander Frost writes: The Phoenix Inn, formerly the Copperfield Inn, in North Creek sold for $1.94-million on February 1, Realtor Mitchell Muroff told The Chronicle.

Mr. Muroff said the buyers are a daughter and father, Zihan “Hannah” Ren and Buhai Ren, from Chelsea, Massachusetts under the name Vision Landmark, LLC.
