New Way reopens on South Street!

After 34 months — nearly three years — the Gazetos family has reopened on South Street in downtown Glens Falls where the 103-year-old hot dog biz began.

Man, 74, rescued after falling through ice on Glen lake

A 74 year old Queensbury man fell through Glen Lake while ice skating Tuesday morning around 9:46 a.m., Bay Ridge Fire Chief Chip Mellon said. The man spent roughly 15-20 minutes in the water before being rescued.

The unidentified man was taken to Glens Falls Hospital to be treated for exposure to cold water, and was conscious and talking to his rescuers when they pulled him out, Chief Mellon said.…

Peter Casertino is new GFSD Resource Officer

Glens Falls City School District announced on its Facebook page that Officer Peter Casertino would join the district as a School Resource Officer, alongside Glens Falls Police Department’s SRO John Norton “to provide additional support for safety and community-building.”

“As a Warren County Sheriff’s Office NY Deputy, he will have a desk at the Middle School,” the district wrote.

Why Carla & Tom Burhoe sold Canoe Island Lodge

After 77 years in the Busch/Burhoe family, Canoe Island Lodge has been sold by Carla and Tom Burhoe.

The total sale was $10.7-million — $8-million the mainland property on both sides of Lake Shore Drive and $2.7-million for Canoe Island itself.
