Sen. Stec gains Moreau, Corinth, Cambridge in redrawn District

The redrawn New York State Assembly and Senate district lines have been released, with significant changes locally.

Opponents have vowed to challenge them in court.

Republican State Senator Dan Stec’s 45th District becomes the 47th, stretching from the Canadian border as far south as Mechanicville. It contains all of Warren, Washington, Essex, Hamilton, Clinton and part of Saratoga and Fulton Counties.

DEC coyote alert

“This is the time of year when New York’s resident coyotes breed and set up dens for pups that will arrive in the spring,” Basil Seggos, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, was quoted in a press release Tuesday.

Corinth, 20-0, girls basketball juggernaut

The Corinth Girls Basketball team defeated Hartford, 62-47, to complete an undefeated, dominating regular season.

The Adirondack League Champions have a record of 20 wins, no losses. Recent victories include 62-18 over Granville, 65-18 over Lake George, and 70-25 over Waterford-Halfmoon.

Sectionals are up next, starting after seeding this week.

Glens Falls considers lighting law; testy hearing
