Ben Osborn Fund looking to make up $40,000; no golf tournament

The Ben Osborn Memorial Fund is seeking new ways to raise money after its annual golf tournament was discontinued.

“The fellow that ran the golf tournament for us decided he couldn’t do it” anymore, said Bill Osborn, Ben’s father.

The two golf tournaments, in 2013 and 2014, raised more than $40,000, he said.

Sheriff: LG boat exploded after gas pumped into fishing rod holder

The Glens Falls Fire Department’s investigation of the Sept. 1 boat explosion at Fischer’s Marina is complete, but had not been released as of press-time.

‘Taste of North Country’ is Sunday

The Glens Falls Kiwanis Club’s 23rd annual Taste of the North Country food festival returns to City Park in downtown Glens Falls on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain or shine.

Civic Center nets $8,000 on wrestling, $9,000 on ‘Royal Horses’

Glens Falls Civic Center manager Jeff Mead reports 900 people attended the Big Time Wrestling event on Friday night and the Civic Center made a profit of $8,000.

And he said that 900 attended the Royal Horses Gala dressage show on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 20, and the Civic Center realized “a little over $9,000.”
