Green Party’s Rich Cirino to run for GF Mayor

Rich Cirino will run for Mayor of Glens Falls on the Green Party line, against declared candidates Democratic Councilman-at-Large Dan Hall and independent Tim Guy.

Mr. Cirino asks, “Do I want four more years of the same thing? Glens Falls is great, but we’re not growing. We’re not attracting young families the way we should.”

School light fight

The Glens Falls City School District is asking voters to approve spending $691,200 to install permanent lights on its football field, but the plan is drawing some high-profile opposition.

The proposition, set for a May 16 vote, is separate from a $17.55-million capital proposition for maintenance and repairs to all of the district’s buildings.

‘Tiki Tours’ proposed for Lake George

Greg Teresi and Larry Davis, who introduced their personal floating Tiki bar to Lake George last summer, now hope to offer 90-minute tours this summer.

The Mill sold for $6.95-million

The Mill apartment complex across from Glens Falls Hospital, developed in 2009 at a cost of $28-million, sold on March 31 for $6.95-million.

The new owners are Mark Rosen and Marc Paquin. Mr. Rosen is the managing member of Dawn Homes, which owns more than 30 apartment complexes in New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
