Fort Ann’s Tyler Mattison had big year in minors; goal is pitch in majors

2017 Fort Ann graduate Tyler Mattison has been spending some time with friends and family at home this off-season after a successful year of professional baseball with the High-A West Michigan Whitecaps and AA Erie SeaWolves.

The 24-year-old 6’4”, 235 pound right-hander was drafted in 2021 by the Detroit Tigers in the fourth round.

Culvert work is ongoing; GF-HF River Street link remains closed

UPDATE 12/13: It’s open! River Street, Route 254, between Glens Falls and Hudson Falls has finally reopened, the State Department of Transportation announced.

The Route, located in Queensbury, had been closed since March for repair work of the Feeder Canal culvert.
The long construction time and detour had deeply frustrated nearby businesses.

Queensbury: Alleged knifepoint robbery during car test drive

Warren County Sheriff’s Office said that Jules W. Lyons-Sylne, 35, of Warrensburg, allegedly robbed a Della Mazda salesperson at knifepoint during a car test drive, yesterday, December 26 at around 6 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office said, that it responded to Round Pond Rd. in Queensbury “for a report of a knifepoint robbery.”
