Glens Falls: More discolored water

The City of Glens Falls acknowledged Tuesday it “continues to experience discoloration in the water supply as the City has begun its twice-yearly hydrant flushing program, and the system has experienced spikes in water demand from a large — as yet unidentified — user.”

The City says the water is safe.

Kusnierz: Hemp paper maker eyes Moreau & Saratoga County

An “environmentally friendly” firm that would manufacture paper products from hemp is considering opening a mill in Moreau, or perhaps elsewhere in Saratoga County, Moreau Town Supervisor Todd Kusnierz told The Chronicle.

“We’re hopeful,” Mr. Kusnierz said in a telephone interview on Monday. “It’s really in the early stages at this point.”

50th Adirondack Balloon Festival: 97 balloons, 13 special shapes, 4 days of events

I Love New York anticipates as many as 200,000 people could attend the 50th anniversary Adirondack Balloon Festival, Sept. 21 to 24, Balloon Festival President Mark Donahue tells The Chronicle.

Last year, he estimated about 150,000 attended.

As always, admission to the Balloon Festival is “100% free,” notes committee member and organizer Erin Reid Coker.
