Washington Co. lost a mainstay when Burger Den in Cambridge closed: 48 years

“The Burger Den was our Peppermill.”

That’s what a Salem native told me about the Burger Den on Route 22 in Cambridge that closed after 48 years.

Greg Baratto opened the Burger Den in 1975 and ran it with his wife Lisa for 35 years, until 2019, when their son Marco bought it to operate with his wife Meghan.

Stefanik would regain Moreau if new district map is okayed

The Saratoga County towns of Moreau, Hadley, Day and Edinburg, now represented by U.S. Rep Paul Tonko, D-Amsterdam, would be moved into the 21st Congressional District, represented by Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, under a new proposed congressional redistricting plan.

Early end to major LG winter initiatives: ‘Winter Realms’ & ‘Winter’s Dream’ to close early

Two major new Lake George winter initiatives will both close early.

Winter Realms at Festival Commons posted on Facebook that its final day will be Sunday, Feb. 25. The attraction — successor to Ice Castles — was planned to continue into early March.

Winter Realms received a $150,000 grant from Warren County Occupancy Tax funds this year.

Enrollment grows at SMSA

Enrollment is growing at St. Mary’s-St. Alphonsus Regional Catholic School in Glens Falls.

“For next year…we’re anticipating 125 (students) for grades K to 8, which is a big bounce,” says Father Scott VanDerveer, pastor of both the school and St. Mary’s Church. “We’re anticipating potentially two kindergartens, two first grades and a return of eighth grade, all in the same year.”
