Fatal Lake George structure fire Sunday
The Warren County Sheriff’s Department said it responded to a fatal residential structure fire early Sunday, January 28, at around 3:15 a.m. at 28 Newton St in the Town of Lake George.
“First arriving units reported that the fire had been extinguished by a family member, but Kimberly S. Quay, age 58 died as a result of the fire,” the Sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Shooting on Pearl Street in Glens Falls, 1 hospitalized
Glens Falls Police Department said it responded to a shooting at around 6:01 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24 “near the corner of North Pearl Street and Lawrence Street” in Glens Falls.
“Officer arrived on scene and identified the subject that was struck and confirmed he was struck with projectiles as evident by casings found on the scene. At the time there were no other subjects in the area,” Police said.

Dome sale nears

Doug and Teresa Miller expect in the next two months to complete sale of their Adirondack Sports Complex — “The Dome” — in Queensbury to Albany-based Afrim’s Sports, which owns five similar facilities in the Capital Region.
“Afrim’s is in the best position to keep this facility functioning as a sports facility,” Mr. Miller said. “And that’s the important thing for the community.”
