Andrea Hogan takes Maine job; ‘I’m still here,’ will serve out term

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: Johnsburg Town Supervisor Andrea Hogan began a new job in October as Executive Director of the Vinalhaven Land Trust, off the coast of Maine, but told The Chronicle Tuesday, “I am still very much a resident of Johnsburg.”

South Glens Falls Fire Holiday Parade Sunday

The South Glens Falls Holiday Parade, organized by the South Glens Falls Fire Company, takes place Sunday, Nov. 20, starting “promptly at 1 p.m.”

The parade starts at the Route 9 and Feeder Dam Road intersection and proceeds north on 9 toward the Glens Falls bridge.

Original Bill Gates Diner on the move

Bolton’s historic Bill Gates Diner is headed back to Warren County.

The diner was originally an 1895 Hudson Valley Trolley Car. In 1937 the abandoned trolley was converted into a diner in Bolton Landing on Main Street.

In 1949 Bill and Dawn Gates bought it and operated it from 1949 to 1981.
