Bars & eateries react as NYS adds new limits on live music

Sometime in the last week, the New York State Liquor Authority website updated its rules about live entertainment at restaurants and bars, sending area venues and musicians into an online tailspin.

A “Defund the Police” rally led by a self-described socialist Monday in City Park drew a larger crowd of angry pro-police protestors, but ended with a glimmer of mutual respect. “We had great conversations at the end, after things got quiet. Bowling alleys finally get OK; ‘had a real good day yesterday’

Now that New York State is allowing bowling centers to operate, is Doug Bohannon, owner of Kingpins Alley in South Glens Falls, optimistic?

Former Congressman Murphy & Jen Hogan buy Lake George house

Former Democratic Congressman Scott Murphy and his wife Jennifer Hogan have purchased a Lake George house at Bolton Landing for $1.54-million, according to Warren County’s listed real estate transactions. The purchased closed on Aug. 7.

The couple still own the former McMullen mansion across from Crandall Park in Glens Falls but they and their three children reside in New York City.
