Glens Falls wins it all!

The Glens Falls High School football team is New York State Class B champion for the second time in three years after a hard-fought 55-32 win over previously unbeaten Batavia in Syracuse’s Carrier Dome on Nov. 24.

The 11-2 Indians overcame a jittery start, contained Batavia’s record-setting running back Ray Leach and its potent multi-faceted offense scored 34 second-half points.

Operation Santa has ‘new energy, members & ideas’

In its 44th year, “this is probably going to be our best fund-raising year ever,” Operation Santa organizer and co-founder Frank Munoff tells The Chronicle.

Last year they raised $170,000.

Operation Santa provides clothing and food vouchers at Christmastime to between 2,200 and 2,500 elementary-aged children in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties, as well as parts of Hamilton and Essex counties.
