Taste result soars

Sunday’s 25th Taste of the North Country food festival in downtown Glens Falls brought a huge crowd and banner results.

The Glens Falls Kiwanis Club said they grossed $79,500, a leap from last year’s $49,000. It brought the 25-year total to $1.4-million. “Not bad,” said event chairman Jerrod Ogden.

Raccoon attack in Qby.: Woman gets rabies shots as a precaution

Susan Silverberg, 56, is getting precautionary rabies shots after a raccoon attacked her and her dog last week near her apartment complex off Meadowbrook Road in Queensbury.

Chris Gibson’s book published; set for Chronicle Book Fair Nov. 5

Remembering Dave Strader, and his impact on hockey and life here in GF

Porreca closes Chicken Shack, expands Raúl’s into its space

“The Chicken Shack is doing okay, but the smart money is on Raúl’s,” owner Russ Porreca said Monday.

He’s closing the Chicken Shack at 162 Glen Street and expanding into that space his thriving Raúl’s Mexican Grill next door.
