Hudson Headwaters Health Network founder Dr. John Rugge will become executive chairman on July 1, turning the reins as chief executive officer over to Dr. Tucker Slingerland.

Dr. Dan Larson, a member of Hudson Headwaters’ senior management for nearly three decades, will become Chief Medical Officer emeritus.

All three physicians will continue to see patients, Dr. Rugge stressed to The Chronicle.

The Glens Falls City School District is asking voters to approve spending $691,200 to install permanent lights on its football field, but the plan is drawing some high-profile opposition.

The proposition, set for a May 16 vote, is separate from a $17.55-million capital proposition for maintenance and repairs to all of the district’s buildings.

A hungry 14-month-old black bear cub is being nursed back to health after he was found curled up next to a partially enclosed hot tub outside a North Creek ski house.

“He’s doing fine and is scheduled to be released in May,” said Steve Hall of Adirondack Wildlife Refuge in Wilmington, where the bear cub is regaining its strength.
