Here’s what’s proposed for GF $10 million

Tuesday was the date for the Glens Falls DRI Advisory Committee to submit its final plan to the state for how to allocate its $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant awarded last August.

About 60 people attended the meeting in Heritage Hall at the Glens Falls Civic Center Thursday, Feb. 23, when the committee laid out its proposal.

Chronicle editor Mark Frost writes: I wasn’t surprised at the throng that turned out Saturday at the “Service of Celebration & Remembrance for Debbie Collin” at Queensbury United Methodist Church on Aviation Road.

Sandy’s Clam Bar reopening, now March 3-4

As The Chronicle first revealed on our Facebook page on Saturday, Sandy’s Clam Bar had its liquor license reinstated on Thursday, Feb. 9, and will reopen.

But the reopening has been pushed back to next weekend, March 3-4, owner Richie Mozal tells The Chronicle. “I still gotta get the help back together,” he said Tuesday.

Columbia Cabinets opens showroom at 974 Rte. 9, Qby.

Columbia Cabinets has purchased Kitchen Dimensions from Queensbury entrepreneur Steve Jackoski, and opened a showroom at 974 State Route 9 in Queensbury, next to Benny’s Deli.

Alice Harris gift of 107 acres a boon to hiking up Potash Mtn.

As it is, 13 Hadley-Luzerne High School graduates each received $2,000 this year toward college expenses, courtesy of a $1-million bequest of Alice Harris, the long-time proprietor of Harris Grocery, who died at the age of 97 in 2007.
